Important note: Ensure that the Encom Discover/Engage licence has first been transferred to the new computer
before transferring the MapInfo licence. The Discover licence transfer procedure is explained in
this Knowledge Base, and fully detailed in the Discover>Discover Help>Help
To transfer the MapInfo licence:
1/. Install MapInfo Pro on the destination machine. Ensure that the correct Serial Number and A/C
number are used: these can be located on a card that is sent in the MapInfo Pro box (these numbers
need to be the same that were used when original MapInfo Pro licence was installed).
2/. Run MapInfo Pro on the original machine and go to Help > Licensing > Transfer Licence...
Then select Automatic Transfer
The Licence will be sent to MapInfo. The licence can the be activated on the destination machine using the
Activation prompt on MapInfo Pro startup.
Note: This process is also suitable to temporarily park' or return the licence to the MapInfo server.
