Error: “InitNcsEcwLib failed: Error loading dynamic library ‘ncsecwmie.dll’ (The specified procedure cannot be found)”

Occurrence

The error appears after MapInfo Professional has been upgraded or re-installed on a machine on which MapImagery is installed. The error is displayed when using either the File>Open menu option or the Open button on the toolbar.

Solution

This is a known issue in the 3rd party MapImagery versions 7200 and 10000.

Note: PBBI\Encom does not provide support for this 3rd party application.

Uninstall the remaining MapImagery program via Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs.

Discover 11 or later includes most of the functionality of MapImagery under Discover>Import or Export>ALG/ECW/JPEG2000 Import, without needing MapImagery installed.
